Exemplaire sur un flan large, épais et irrégulier. Usure très importante au droit, piqué et corrodé. Très beau revers. Patine marron foncé

Reverse description : Pax (la Paix) debout à gauche, tenant un globe nicéphore de la main droite et un long sceptre transversal de la main gauche.

Commentary
Poids très lourd. Surfrappé sur un sesterce plus ancien. Le revers semble emprunté à la typologie des antoniniens.

Postume seizes the purple by eliminating Salonin, son of Gallien, of whom he had custody. He reigns over Gaul, Brittany and Spain. Did Postume toy with the idea of conquering the Roman Empire? Gallien, twice, will try to reconquer the "pars occidentalis" of the Empire, without success. Postume will remain in power for nine years, before perishing assassinated for having refused the sack of Mainz, a city which supported Lélien.
