Reverse description : Concordia (la Concorde) drapée assise à gauche, tenant une patère de la main droite et une corne d’abondance de la main gauche.
Reverse translation : “Concordia”, (la Concorde).

Commentary


Au revers, la Concorde ne tient qu’une simple corne d’abondance. Ce type semble plus rare que ne le laissent supposer les ouvrages généraux. C’est la première fois que nous proposons un exemplaire à la vente.

Lucille was born in 149, was married by her father Lucius Verus in 164. She may have received the title of Augusta from 161. After the death of her husband in 169, she married Pompeianus, an old senator, friend of Marcus Aurelius. When Commodus succeeded his father, he honored his sister, but Lucille plotted against him. She was exiled to Capri, and performed 182.
