Commentary

Coffret provenant de ceux distribués lors du Conseil Ecofin tenu à Versailles en 1994.
Les informations dont nous disposons actuellement font apparaître l’existence de trois types différents d’essais de frappe pour les Euros effectués à Pessac. De nombreux autres essais intermédiaires sont connus mais un référencement complet n’est pas encore possible.
La première série est probablement la seule ayant été présentée en coffret officiel. Cette série a été frappée avant le 18 novembre 1998 (date à laquelle les tranches de 10 et 50 cents passent de stries fines à de larges cannelures).
Ce coffret est composé de 9 pièces allant de la 1 cent à la 5 euro.
Box from those distributed at the Ecofin Council held in Versailles in 1994. The information we currently have indicates the existence of three different types of test strikes for the Euros carried out in Pessac. Many other intermediate tests are known, but a complete reference is not yet possible. The first series is probably the only one to have been presented in an official box. This series was struck before November 18, 1998 (the date on which the 10 and 50 cent edges changed from fine grooves to wide fluting). This box is composed of 9 coins ranging from 1 cent to 5 euro
