Exemplaire sur un flan parfaitement centré des deux côtés. Beau buste de Constantin II, le regard levé vers le ciel. Revers de toute beauté. Belle patine marron. Conserve l’intégralité de son brillant de frappe et de son coupant d’origine

Obverse description : Buste lauré, drapé et cuirassé de Constantin II César à droite, vu de trois quarts en avant (A*).
Obverse translation : "Constantinus Iunior Nobilissimus Cæsar”, (Constantin le Jeune très noble césar).

Reverse legend : PROVIDEN-TIAE CAESS/ -|-// T(CROISSANT)T.
Reverse description : Porte de camp surmontée de deux tourelles, au milieu, une étoile à huit rais.
Reverse translation : “Providentiæ Cæsarum” (À la providence des Césars).
Commentary
Rubans de type 3 aux extrémités bouletées. Ptéryges fines sous le paludamentum. Cinq rangs de pierres verticaux surmontés de meurtrières.

Caesar
Born in February 317 according to the most recent chronology, Constantine the Younger receives on coins the title of Caesar like his half-brother Crispus and his cousin Licinius, as well as the title of Prince of Youth. Constantine II is the eldest son of Constantine I and Fausta. In September 337, he received the "pars occidentalis" from the Empire with subjection to his brother Constans, Constantius II having the "pars orientalis". Very quickly, Constantin and Constans fall out. The eldest is eliminated in April 340.
