Reverse legend : P M S C-OL VIM//AN XII.
Reverse description : La Mésie debout de face tournée à gauche, placée devant un taureau à gauche tourné à droite et un lion à droite tourné à gauche.
Reverse translation : “Provinciæ Moesiæ Superioris Colonia Viminacium/ anno duodecimum”, (Province de Mésie Supérieure colonie de Viminacium/ douzième année).

Commentary


Après Gordien III (an 2), la frappe de l’as est extrêmement rare et limité. A. Kotschev signale au total six types : deux pour Philippe II, un pour Hostilien, deux pour Trébonien Galle et un pour Volusien. Pour ce dernier un as de l’an XIII est signalé, pesant 5,00 grammes (K. 5/28). Aucune pièce n’est recensée par I. Varbonov et le Musée de Budapest ne possède aucun exemplaire.
