Obverse description : Tête barbue et nue de Tatius à droite.

Obverse translation : “Sabinus Tatius/ Senatus Consulto”, (Tatius Sabinus/ avec l’accord du Sénat).

Reverse legend : IVDEX// T. VETTIVS.

Reverse description : Personnage (magistrat ?), en toge dans un bige au pas à gauche, tenant les rênes de la main droite et un sceptre de la main gauche ; derrière, un épi de blé.

Reverse translation : “Titus Vettius Iudex”, (Titus Vettius Judex).

Commentary

Deux contremarques au droit devant le portrait de Tatius. Pour ce type, M. Crawford a relevé une estimation inférieure à 20 coins de droit et inférieure à 22 coins de revers. Ce type est beaucoup plus rare que ne semblent l’indiquer les ouvrages généraux. Pour ce type, M. Crawford n’a relevé que six exemplaires dans les trésors de San Giulamo (1 ex.), d’Avignano (2 ex.), de Maillé (1 ex.) et de Bourgueil (1 ex).

This type is much rarer than general works seem to indicate.
