Commentary
Selon De Bie, n° XCIIII, le revers donne à entendre “que la fleur de la Vertu naissante du jeune duc nommé, ne se faniroit point par le temps, mais plustost qu’elle prendroit accroissement dans le cours des années..” . César, duc de Vendôme, est le fils légitimé d’Henri IV et de Gabrielle d’Estrées. Il est né en 1594, devient duc de Vendôme en 1598. Il meurt en 1665.
