Reverse description : Inscription en six lignes entourée d’une couronne de laurier.
Reverse translation : La ville de Paris donne le premier prix à l’arquebusier à cheval, vainqueur.
Commentary
La médaille est conservée dans une boîte cartonnée bleue de la monnaie de Paris.
Deux médailles similaires sont conservées au musée du Louvre, au département des Objets d’Art (numéro d’inventaire : OAP 2186 et OAP 2187).

The Fifth Republic, whose constitution was approved by referendum on September 28, 1958 by more than 79% of French people, only officially began with the installation of General de Gaulle as president on January 8, 1959.
