THRACE - KALLATIS

(3rd - 1st century BC)

Callatis, located in Lower Moesia, was a colony of Heraclea Pontica, located about forty kilometers from Tomis. Lucullus seized Callatis in 72 BC and put an end to the coinage of the city.
