Beau portrait énigmatique, légèrement décentré. A été légèrement nettoyé. Revers bien venu à la frappe est parfaitement centré

Commentary
Sur cet exemplaire, tous le détails composant la tête de Méduse sont bien visibles. Au revers le mollusque, décrit comme une écrevisse, est incertain.

THRACE - APOLLONIA PONTICA
(4th century BC)
Apollonia Pontica, located on Pont-Euxin was a Milesian colony. The city was famous for its temple of Apollo and its colossal statue, the work of Kalamis. When Lucullus captured the city in 73 BC, he had the statue of the god transported to Rome.
