SWEDEN - GUSTAF V

(1858-1950)

Son of Oscar II, Gustave V descended through his mother from Gustave IV. He complied throughout his reign with the rules of the parliamentary monarchy and helped to keep Sweden out of the two world wars. He married in 1881 to Princess Victoria of Baden (1862-1930), daughter of Frederick I, Grand Duke of Baden and Louise of Prussia.
