En 1973, un important groupe de passionnés d'aviation de Burgos fonda ce qui est aujourd'hui le l’Aéro-club Royal de Burgos, lançant son école de pilotage avec l'aide de M. Francisco Vidal de l’Aéro-club Royal de Santander. Les débuts se firent avec des avions très appréciés, l'AISAS I-11B de l'Armée de l'air espagnole, l'EC-BTM et l'EC-BPR, suivis de deux AISAS I-115, et enfin du moderne Cessna C-150. La passion pour les vols et les championnats s'enracina rapidement, et des équipages stables se formèrent, qui apportèrent de grands triomphes au club : Bañuelos, Diez, Jiménez, Bauza, etc., devenant ainsi le premier champion du IVe Trophée de Sa Majesté le Roi et du XXIe Tour Aérien de l’Aéro-club Royal d'Espagne en 1980. In 1973, a large group of aviation enthusiasts from Burgos founded what is now the Royal Aero Club of Burgos, launching its flight school with the help of Mr. Francisco Vidal of the Royal Aero Club of Santander. It began with highly regarded aircraft, the Spanish Air Force's AISAS I-11B, the EC-BTM, and the EC-BPR, followed by two AISAS I-115s, and finally the modern Cessna C-150. The passion for flights and championships quickly took root, and stable crews were formed, which brought great triumphs to the club: Bañuelos, Diez, Jiménez, Bauza, etc., becoming the first champion of the IV Trophy of His Majesty the King and the XXI Air Tour of the Royal Aero Club of Spain in 1980.
