La Somalie italienne est une colonie italienne de 1889 à 1941. Durant la Seconde Guerre mondiale, dès 1941, les Anglais occupent cette région, qu'ils quittent à la fin de 1949. From 1884, Italy colonized Somalia. In 1941, the Allies attacked Italian East Africa, which ceased to exist in November 1941. Between 1941 and 1950, the former Italian Somaliland was under British military administration. In 1949, the UN General Assembly decided to place Somalia under UN trusteeship on April 1, 1950. This trusteeship, assigned to Italy, was poorly received in the region, as Italy was the former colonial power and the Italian administration was a successor to the former fascist colonial administration.
