Commentary
Poids lourd. Semble de mêmes coins que l’exemplaire de l’American Numismatic Society (ANS. 1169). La ligne d’exergue fait penser à une massue.

SICILY - ALASEA (KAINON)
(4th century BC)
The creation of Kainon (Caena) is certainly linked to the arrival of the Corinthian Timoleon in Sicily in 345 BC. He was considered a liberator by the Sicilians. The presence of Timoléon profoundly modified the coinage. A significant number of cities minted a civic coinage like perhaps Kainon that B. Head considered federal or symmachic.
