Obverse description : Buste diadémé et drapé de Salonine à droite vu de trois quarts en avant posé sur un croissant (L15).
Obverse translation : “Salonina Augusta”, (Salonine Augusta).

Reverse description : Vénus debout à gauche, tenant une pomme de la main droite et un casque de la main gauche, appuyée sur son bouclier.

Wife of Gallienus, mother of Valerian II and Saloninus - Augusta
Salonine, the wife of Gallien, seems to receive the title of augusta in 253, when her husband is associated with power by Valerian I. She loses at least two of her children, young Valérien and Salonin. She is murdered at the same time as her husband. Salonina is said to have had Christian sympathies.
