Ce type de rouelle en argent se rencontre vraiment exceptionnellement.
Si nous connaissons quelques exemplaires avec une jante et des rayons en granulations, c’est la première fois que nous voyons un tel objet, associant une jante découpée dans une tôle et des rayons obtenus par granulations !
Les rouelles en or et en argent avaient vraisemblablement une valeur monétaire, de par leur métal, mais aussi cultuelle !.
This type of silver wheel is truly exceptional. While we know of a few examples with a rim and spokes made of granulation, this is the first time we have seen such an object, combining a rim cut from sheet metal and spokes obtained by granulation! Gold and silver wheels likely had monetary value, due to their metal, but also religious value!
