PROVENCE - COUNTY OF PROVENCE - ROBERT OF ANJOU

(1309-1343)

Robert (1277-1343), is the son of Charles II and Marie of Hungary and the brother of Charles-Martel and Philippe de Tarente. He married firstly Yolande of Aragon and secondly Sancie of Majorca. Robert of Anjou was also King of Naples and the grandfather of Joan of Naples who succeeded him. Robert takes the titles of King of Jerusalem and Sicily on the obverse and Count of Provence on the reverse.
