Très bel exemplaire de poids très lourd et sur un flan très large pour cette phase tardive des frappes de l’atelier II. Joli portrait au style unique. Beau revers ayant conservé de nombreux détails ! Agréable patine vert olive

Exemplaire d’un style inimitable ! Aucun exemplaire similaire dans le catalogue de Pierre Bastien. Cependant, le droit est très proche du numéro 369a, alors rapproché aux “imitations diverses” et depuis le classement de Daniel Gricourt, paru en 1989 dans Trésors Monétaires XI, pages 35 à 54, cette monnaie est rattachable au graveur K (même coin que le D305), pour le deuxième temps de la deuxième phase.

Postume seizes the purple by eliminating Salonin, son of Gallien, of whom he had custody. He reigns over Gaul, Brittany and Spain. Did Postume toy with the idea of conquering the Roman Empire? Gallien, twice, will try to reconquer the "pars occidentalis" of the Empire, without success. Postume will remain in power for nine years, before perishing assassinated for having refused the sack of Mainz, a city which supported Lélien.
