Très bel exemplaire frappé sur un flan ovale et épais. Joli portrait et très beau revers. Patine grise

Reverse description : Pax (la Paix) debout à gauche, drapée, brandissant une branche d'olivier de la main droite et tenant un sceptre transversal de la gauche.

Postume seizes the purple by eliminating Salonin, son of Gallien, of whom he had custody. He reigns over Gaul, Brittany and Spain. Did Postume toy with the idea of conquering the Roman Empire? Gallien, twice, will try to reconquer the "pars occidentalis" of the Empire, without success. Postume will remain in power for nine years, before perishing assassinated for having refused the sack of Mainz, a city which supported Lélien.
