Commentary
Pour ce type, M. Crawford a relevé une estimation de vingt coins de droit et de vingt-cinq coins de revers. Ce type de denier semble beaucoup plus rare que ne le laissent supposer les ouvrages généraux.
For this type, Mr. Crawford noted an estimate of twenty upright dies and twenty-five reverse dies. This type of denarius seems much rarer than general works suggest.

Historical background
POSTUMIA
(96 BC)
Aulus Postumius Albinus belongs to the monetary college formed by Lucius Cæcilius Metellus, Caius Poblicius Malleolus and himself. He is perhaps the son of Spurius Postumius Albinus who was consul in 110 BC. Of praetorian rank, he joined the party of the Marianists (supporters of Marius) and died at the battle of Porte Colline in 82 before J. - C. by fighting against Sylla. In 96 BC, Cnæus Domitius Ahenobarbus and Caius Cassius Longinus were consuls. Sylla becomes praetor. In Asia, he imposed as King of Cappadocia Ariobarzanes I Philoromaios (96-63 BC).
