Ce denier est frappé sur un flan assez large. On doit noter un léger décentrage au revers et deux éclatements de flan à 1 et 7 heures. Les légendes présentent de petites faiblesses de frappe

The Soissonnais was a hereditary stronghold of the House of Vermandois. In the 12th century, the county passed into the house of Nesle. Yves de Nesle (1141-1178) chose his nephew Conon de Nesle (1175/6-1180) to succeed him. Raoul de Nesle succeeded his brother Conon who died in 1180 without posterity. Raoul's reign was one of the longest in the county of Soissons, 55 years.
