Exemplaire sur un flan large et ovale, bien centré des deux côtés, un peu court sur les légendes. Très belle tête de Zeus. Jolie représentation du revers. Belle patine vert foncé

PHRYGIA - APAMEIA

(2nd - 1st century BC)

Apamea, located at the crossroads of several important roads in Asia Minor, was founded by Antiochus I (280-261 BC), in memory of his mother, Apama, the wife of Seleucus Nicator, the founder of the dynasty. Seleucid. The city was located near the source of the Meander. After the Peace of Apamea in 188 BC, the city came under Attalid rule and followed the fate of the Kingdom of Pergamum. After 133 BC, it was part of the Roman province of Asia.
