Exemplaire bien centré au droit. Flan un peu court sur la légende de revers mais la monnaie reste bien identifiable. Patine vert foncé. Très beau buste d’Athéna

Obverse description : Buste d'Athéna (Artémis) à droite, coiffée du casque corinthien à aigrette avec l'égide visible sur la poitrine.

Reverse description : Aigle volant à droite, les ailes déployées, surmonté d'une étoile, entre les deux astres surmontant les bonnets des Dioscures ; sous les serres de l'aigle, un méandre.

PHRYGIA - APAMEIA
(2nd - 1st century BC)
Apamea, located at the crossroads of several important roads in Asia Minor, was founded by Antiochus I (280-261 BC), in memory of his mother, Apama, the wife of Seleucus Nicator, the founder of the dynasty. Seleucid. The city was located near the source of the Meander. After the Peace of Apamea in 188 BC, the city came under Attalid rule and followed the fate of the Kingdom of Pergamum. After 133 BC, it was part of the Roman province of Asia.
