Pour autant que l’on puisse en juger à première vue, ce jeton, d’ailleurs légèrement plus lourd que ceux en cuivre du même type, semble effectivement en argent, ce qui est totalement anormal pour un jeton de Nuremberg.
Peut-être s’agit-il d’une fabrication commandée par l’administration, comme le fit et le signa Paparel ?
En tous cas, à la patine et à l’usure de circulation, s’il s’agit d’un jeton argenté, l’argenture est très épaisse et contemporaine de la frappe.
