Ce triens s’intègre parfaitement dans la série de NOVVS Vicus, Nivy, canton de Conlie (Sarthe). Les triens B. 3255 - 3258 sont de cet atelier avec le même genre de légendes pour le monétaire FLAVLFVS. Les triens B. 3257 et 3258 présentent les mêmes légendes, mais avec un revers d’un type différent.

NOVUS VICUS - NEUVY-EN-CHAMPAGNE (Sarthe)

Neuvy-en-Champagne is a small village located about fifteen kilometers northwest of Le Mans, not far from Conlie. Although not having enough information on its origin, it is on the axis connecting Alençon to Sablé-sur-Sarthe. Its Latin name corresponds to "New village". Its inhabitants are called Noviciens and Noviciennes. This workshop gathers all coins n° 3246 - 3270 of Belfort, for different currencies; FRIDIRICVS, TEODIRICVS, NAMALO, TVEVD, THVEVALDVS, AVDOLINVS, FLANVLFVS, FLAVLFVS, DOMOLVS, IVIOISONE, TASONE, LEODAREDVS, CSATVS, LAVNVLFVS, GENOBAVDVS or even VVIIIICARI (?). This diversity of coins suggests the importance of the workshop..
