Obverse description : Buste du Christ de face, portant le nimbe crucigère, vêtu du pallium et du colombium, la main droite bénissante et tenant de la main gauche les Évangiles.
Obverse translation : (Jésus-Christ roi des rois).

Reverse legend : NICEFOR’ CE BASIL’ AVGG IN.
Reverse description : Bustes vus à mi-corps de Nicéphore II à gauche et de Basile II à droite ; ils sont couronnés, Nicéphore II porte le loros et Basile II la chlamyde ; ils tiennent tous deux la croix patriarcale bouletée.
Reverse translation : (Nicéphore et Basile augustes rois des Romains).

Commentary


Poids léger. Peti module. Tetarteron. Deux globules dans chaque bras de la croix du nimbe crucigère du Christ au droit. Six globules décorant les Évangiles. Onze globules sur le loros de Nicéphore II. Ce type semble beaucoup plus rare que ne le laissent supposer les ouvrages généraux. C’est la première fois que nous le proposons à la vente.
