Exemplaire sur un petit flan épais bien centré des deux côtés avec une partie du grènetis visible. Très beau portrait de haut relief. Revers de style fin, bien venu à la frappe. Jolie patine de médaillier avec des reflets dorés, légèrement granuleuse au revers

(197-160 BC)
Eumenes II is the eldest son of Attalus I Soter (241-197 BC) and succeeded his father. Faithful ally of the Romans in Asia Minor, he brought them his help in the conflict which opposed them to Antiochus III the Great and the Seleucids. He participated in the Battle of Magnesia of the Meander in 190 BC and was one of the great beneficiaries of the Peace of Apamea (188 BC) where he was awarded important territories removed to the Seleucids in Asia Minor. Under his rule, Pergamon became the most prosperous city in Asia Minor and its most powerful kingdom under Roman protectorate. On his death Attalus II succeeded him..
