Commentary

La carrière de ce médecin d'exception, dans une période pourtant troublée est une énumération qui se passe de commentaires : titulaire de deux chaires (Académie des Sciences et Jardin des plantes) à 35 ans il fut successivement médecin du Comte de Provence puis de Louis XVIII en étant dans l'intervalle et ultérieurement l'un des médecins les plus célèbres de Paris. Il fut le premier président d'honneur perpétuel de l'Académie de Médecine.
The career of this exceptional doctor, in a troubled period, is a list that speaks for itself: holder of two chairs (Académie des Sciences and Jardin des Plantes) at 35 years old, he was successively physician to the Count of Provence then to Louis XVIII, being in the meantime and later one of the most famous doctors in Paris.
