Reverse description : Temple tétrastyle avec fronton triangulaire décoré ; à l'intérieur, statue de Rome casquée et drapée assise sur un bouclier à gauche, tenant un globe et une haste.
Reverse translation : “Conservatores Urbis Suæ”, (Les protecteurs de leur ville).

Commentary

Ce type, avec le revers présentant uniquement la statue de Rome, reste beaucoup plus rare !.

Augustus

Maxentius, son of Maximian, was proclaimed Caesar on October 28, 306 in Rome, then took the title of Filius Augustorum.
