Exemplaire sur un flan bien centré des deux côtés. Des traces de monture sont visibles sur la tranche. Joli buste de Matidie ainsi qu’un revers agréable. Les champs sont légèrement grattés

Obverse description : Buste diadémé et drapé de Matidie à droite vu de trois quarts en avant avec le stéphané et une coiffure très élaborée (L).
Obverse translation : "Matidia Augusta Divae Marcianae Filia", (Matidie Augusta Fille de la Divinne Marciane).

Reverse legend : PIETAS AVGVST.
Reverse description : Matidie debout de face, regardant à gauche, et plaçant ses mains sur la tête de Sabine et Matidie Jeune, l'une à sa droite, l'autre à sa gauche.
Reverse translation : "Pietas Augustae", (La Piété de l'Augusta).

Matidia

(+ 119 AD) Salonia Matidia

Marciane daughter, mother Sabine, niece of Trajan

Matidia, is the daughter of Marciane (Ulpia Marciana) and Caius Salonius Matidius Patruinus. It is also the niece of Trajan who considers her daughter. She married Lucius Vibius Sabinus. His daughter Sabine (Vibia Sabina) married Hadrian in 100 AD which was also the pupil and cousin of Trajan. When he died died in 112, Matidia receives the title of Augusta immediately. After his death in 119, it is deified.
