Ce denier est frappé sur un flan irrégulier et est recouvert d’une patine grise. Surfaces légèrement granuleuses. Léger grattage entre les lettres LV du droit

Commentary

Cette légende LVG assure l’attribution à Lyon. Les deniers épiscopaux de Lyon sont relativement rares, mais très variés. Jean Lafaurie attribue ces deniers à l’évêque Godinus (vers 688-701) en raison du G rétrograde rattaché à l’un des bras de la croix du revers.
