Exemplaire sur un petit flan épais avec un plat de frappe à 6 heures. Revers bien venu à la frappe. Recouvert d’une épaisse patine de médaillier

LUCANIA - POSEIDONIA

(5th century BC)

Poseidonia was colonized by the Sybarites in the 7th century BC. After the destruction of Sybaris by the Crotoniates in 510 BC, part of the population of Sybaris took refuge in Poseidonia. The city was finally captured by the Lucanians at the end of the 5th century.
