Commentary

Avec ces petits jetons distribués à la foule lors du mariage, l'Empereur retrouvait l'usage romain des quinaires, monnaies de format et de poids réduits qui servaient très probablement lors des donativa. On notera que la gravure de celui-ci est tellement fine et respectueuse de la subtilité des tissus antiques que l’on remarque sans peine, à la loupe, le nombril de l’impératrice sous le tissu arachnéen. Ce jeton existe en deux frappes, avec ou sans virole.
