De fabrication allemande, cet exemplaire est utilisé pour contrôler le poids du double Louis d’or dit “Mirliton” (Dy 1637) d’après le catalogue des poids monétaires de la Monnaie de Paris, tandis que l’ouvrage de Dieudonné le définit comme permettant de contrôler le poids du double louis d’or aux lunettes et au bandeau de Louis XV et Louis XVI.
Made in Germany, this specimen is used to control the weight of the double Louis d'or known as “Mirliton” (Dy 1637) according to the catalogue of monetary weights of the Paris Mint, while Dieudonné's work defines it as allowing the weight of the double Louis d'or to be controlled with the glasses and headband of Louis XV and Louis XVI.
