Demi-louis d’or frappé sur un flan large et légèrement irrégulier. Petite cassure de carré devant le visage du roi et petite faiblesse de frappe à 4 heures au droit se retrouvant à 2 heures au revers

Commentary
D’après nos recherches en archives, 7880 demi-louis ont été mis en circulation suite à une unique délivrance du 3 août 1720. Pour cette production 8 demi-louis d’or ont été mis en boîte. Le poids monnayé a été de 157 marcs 4 onces (AN, Z1b 298, 319 et 880). Monnaie issue de la même paire de carrés que l’exemplaire vendu par la Maison Elsen 109, du 18 juin 2011, n° 1340.
According to our archival research, 7,880 half-louis were put into circulation following a single issue on August 3, 1720. For this production, 8 gold half-louis were boxed. The coin weight was 157 marks and 4 ounces (AN, Z1b 298, 319 and 880). This coin comes from the same pair of dies as the example sold by Elsen Auction House, lot 1340, dated June 18, 2011.
