Joli bronze frappé sur un flan épais et légèrement décentré. Une partie de la légende est hors flan au droit. Revers agréable avec un joli lion. Patine gris sombre

Obverse legend : CISIAMBOS.
Obverse description : Tête à droite, légende devant le visage.
Reverse
Reverse description : Lion à droite, un annelet sous le ventre, sous la gueule et un autre entre la queue et la patte arrière ; légende au-dessous d’une ligne d’exergue.
Reverse legend : OUO
Reverse translation : (deux ou trois lettres ligaturées dans le Y central).
Historical background
LEXOVII (Area of Lisieux)
(2nd - 1st century BC)
The Lexovians, a small Celtic people, had Noviomagus (Lisieux) as their main oppidum. Their territory was bounded by the hills of the Perche and the sea. According to Strabo, the Lexovians would have been excellent traders, exchanging tin from Brittany and lead from Cornwall for wine and oil from Italy. They are cited several times by Caesar in his Commentaries. The Lexovian contingent for the relief army sent to Alesia was included in the twenty thousand men counted for all the peoples along the ocean and "who call themselves Armoricans". However, the Lexovians do not belong to the Armorican group. Caesar (BG. III, 9, 11, 17, 29). Kruta: 351, 366.
