Obverse translation : “Flavius Claudius Constantinus Iunior Nobilissimus Cæsar”, (Flavien Claude Constantin le jeune très noble césar).

Reverse description : Deux victoires debout face à face tenant un bouclier posé sur un cippe sur lequel on lit : VOT/P.R ; l’autel est orné d’une couronne ornée d’une étoile.
Reverse translation : “Victoriæ Lætæ Principium Perpetuæ/ Vota Populi Romani”, (À la victoire heureuse et durable du Prince/ Vœux du Peuple Romain).

Historical background
CONSTANTINE II

Caesar
Born in February 317 according to the most recent chronology, Constantine the Younger receives on coins the title of Caesar like his half-brother Crispus and his cousin Licinius, as well as the title of Prince of Youth. Constantine II is the eldest son of Constantine I and Fausta. In September 337, he received the "pars occidentalis" from the Empire with subjection to his brother Constans, Constantius II having the "pars orientalis". Very quickly, Constantin and Constans fall out. The eldest is eliminated in April 340.
