Exemplaire sur un tout petit flan épais, irrégulier. Usure importante, mais parfaitement lisible et identifiable. Patine vert foncé

Poids excessivement léger. Bien qu’une partie du nom ne soit pas visible, seule une attribution à Justinien Ier est envisageable avec l’an 37, seul empereur ayant une telle longévité pour cette période (527-565).

Justinian succeeded his uncle Justin in 527 after a co-regency from April 4 to August 1, 527. He reigned with Empress Theodora. The construction of Hagia Sophia was completed under his reign, which marks the height of the Byzantine conquests. Carthage as well as Africa and part of Numidia were reconquered from the Vandals thanks to General Bélisaire. After a century of Vandal domination, Romanism once again reigned over the Mediterranean.
