Exemplaire sur un petit flan ovale et épais, court sur la légende au droit. Usure importante au droit, mais parfaitement identifiable. Très joli revers, bien visible. Jolie patine vert foncé

JUSTIN I

(10/07/5/518-1/08/527)

Justin I, illiterate of Macedonian origin, was a brilliant military leader under the reigns of Zeno and Anastasius. At the time of his accession, he was commander-in-chief of the "excubitores" (guards) of Constantinople. He succeeded Anastasius and associated his nephew Justinian with power, who became co-emperor on April 4, 527. Justin died on the following August 1.
