Commentary
La légende est coupée par une croisette au-dessus de la tête (Exemplaire seulement recensé dans la collection Hahn). Rubans de type 3. Au revers, la marque de valeur est encadrée par deux étoiles à six rais et d’une croisette. Semble plus rare que ne le laissent supposer les ouvrages généraux.

Justin I, illiterate of Macedonian origin, was a brilliant military leader under the reigns of Zeno and Anastasius. At the time of his accession, he was commander-in-chief of the "excubitores" (guards) of Constantinople. He succeeded Anastasius and associated his nephew Justinian with power, who became co-emperor on April 4, 527. Justin died on the following August 1.
