(17/03/1861-9/01/1878)

Victor-Emmanuel II (14/03/1820-9/01/1878), son of Charles-Albert and Thérèse of Tuscany, succeeded his father who abdicated in 1849. In twelve years, with the help of Cavour and the alliance of France, he will reconstitute the kingdom of Italy for his benefit in 1861 but he does not take Rome until 1870.
