Intéressante médaille, témoin du développement de la Franc-maçonnerie britannique aux Indes au XIXe siècle ainsi que de l’histoire des parsis de Bombay. Il s’agit ici d’un exemplaire de la deuxième série réalisée en 1904.

An interesting medal, a testament to the development of British Freemasonry in India in the 19th century, as well as the history of the Parsis of Bombay. This is a example from the second series produced in 1904. Jacques Bunes was a doctor and Grand Master of the Province of the West Indies (1836) and then Grand Master for all the Indies (1846), founder of the famous Rising Star lodge in Bombay, open to natives, Parsis, and Muslims.

On August 25, 1941, Habib Bank inaugurated its first banking activities in Bombay. In 1947, the bank set up its headquarters in Karachi, becoming at the same time the first commercial bank of the very recent Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
