On August 25, 1941, Habib Bank inaugurated its first banking activities in Bombay. In 1947, the bank set up its headquarters in Karachi, becoming at the same time the first commercial bank of the very recent Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Throughout the decades, Habib Bank introduced to the Pakistani market products such as credit cards, ATMs, travelers checks etc. Today, Habib Bank is considered as the people's bank.
