Commentary

Très rare. Il augmenta grâce à des spéculations heureuses son patrimoine et fit construire par Mansart dans la rue qui porte aujourd'hui son nom un superbe hôtel particulier. Tombé en disgrâce en 1669, il fut remplacé par Colbert à la secrétairerie d'Etat.
Very rare. He increased his wealth through successful speculation and had Mansart build a superb private mansion on the street that now bears his name. Having fallen into disgrace in 1669, he was replaced by Colbert as Secretary of State.
