Exemplaire de qualité pour ce type de denier souvent mal frappé. Relativement bien centré des deux côtés malgré un flan court. Patine sombre et brillante

La légende EFE est bien nette, bien qu’en bord de flan. Sur les 18 exemplaires répertoriés, un provient d’Agen et onze du Mas-d’Agenais.

GALLIA - SOUTH WESTERN GAUL - NITIOBROGES (Area of Agen)
(1st century BC)
The territory of Nitiobroges corresponds to the current territory of the department of Lot et Garonne (47). Several discoveries of treasures have taken place in this department: in Boé, Aiguillon, Montastruc and Moncrabeau. These "drachmas" by their typology and their metrology resemble more the coinage of western Gaul than the Aquitaine coinage. The weight is closer to the denarius system than to the drachma system. The typology is close to Santones or Lemovices.
