Beau bronze sur un flan centré. Un manque de métal à neuf heure. De très jolis détails, une légende presque entièrement visible. Patine sombre

Première fois que nous proposons ce type à la vente ! Ce très rare bronze au sanglier est mieux connu suite à la publication de L.P. Delestrèe “Un notable gaulois au sud de la basse vallée de la Seine : CONTESIO(S) ‘le Chaleureux’”, CN 205 Louis-Pol Delestrée, p.17-19.

GALLIA - AULERCI EBUROVICES (Area of Évreux)
(2nd - 1st century BC)
The Aulerci were subdivided into three tribes: Aulerci Diablintes, Aulerci Cenomani and Aulerci Éburovices. The territory of Aulerques Éburovices corresponds to the current department of Eure. They are quoted several times in Caesar's Commentaries. According to the latter, they would have massacred their Senate favorable to the Romans in 56 BC and would have joined the Unelles and the revolted Lexoviens. In 52 BC, they provided a contingent of three thousand men to the relief army. : Caesar (BG.(II, 34; III, 17, 29; VII, 4, 75; VIII, 7). Kruta: 72.
