Commentary
L'association maçonnique de temple a été incorporée à Detroit en 1894. Il est entré dans son premier temple, sur la rue de boulevard de Lafayette au début, en 1896. Devenant trop grand pour ces quarts, l'association a acheté la terre sur la rue de Bagg (maintenant avenue de temple) pour construire un nouveau temple qui inclurait également un théâtre public. La mobilisation de fonds pour la construction du bâtiment a soulevé $2.5 millions, et d'inauguration a eu lieu le thanksgiving Day, 1920, que la pierre angulaire a été placée le 19 septembre 1922, à l'aide de la même truelle que George Washington plaçait la pierre angulaire du capitole des États-Unis dans DC de Washington. It is considered that each regiment, each garrison, each city had its Lodge. The testimonies that the sumptuous tokens of the period leave us show that these lodges were rich and influential.. The symbolism is sought after, without comparison with the later eras, which were much more conventional, even bland or destitute at the beginning of the 20th century.. Freemasonry had more than a thousand lodges spread over one hundred and thirty departments and more than sixty thousand Brothers.
