Monnaie de la plus grande rareté connue à seulement trois exemplaires. Combinaison de coins A2/R2 (CCK, n° 1580, p. 71), le seul exemplaire connu utilisant ces coins, les deux autres connus étant issus des coins A1/R1.

Franche-Comté - Besançon

(1534-1674)

Charles V (1500-1558) is the son of Philip the Handsome and Joanna the Mad. He became Duke of Burgundy (Franche-Comté) in 1506. To thank his minister, Nicolas Perrenot Granvelle (1486-1550), a native of Besançon, Charles concedes May 8, 1534 the city the right to coin money provided to include the right his effigy. After his abdication in 1556 and his death in 1558, the Bisontins continued to include the face of the emperor on the coinage.
