Commentary

Les "arduis" (difficultés) auxquels se trouve confronté Philibert Morisset lors de son décanat sont essentiellement d'ordre financier. La Faculté de médecine devait à Blondel, son prédécesseur, 4160 livres que Morisset se refusait à lui payer. Un procès fut intenté par Blondel qui le fit payer suite à une contrainte par corps. Morisset quitta la Faculté en fort mauvais termes et sa veuve fut accablée d'un autre procès.
On doit noter une modification sur cette refrappe, l’exergue du revers a été arasée, probablement dans le coin lui-même, pour supprimer la date originale marquée sur ce coin, 1652. Feuardent connaît cette variante en argent, pas en cuivre, et la note RF?.
The \\\"arduis\\\" (difficulties) faced by Philibert Morisset during his deanship were essentially financial. The Faculty of Medicine owed his predecessor, Blondel, 4,160 livres, which Morisset refused to pay. Blondel brought a lawsuit, which forced him to pay following a forced imprisonment. Morisset left the Faculty on very bad terms, and his widow was saddled with another lawsuit. It should be noted that there is a modification to this re-strike: the exergue on the reverse has been leveled, probably in the die itself, to remove the original date marked on this die, 1652. Feuardent knows this variant in silver, not in copper, and the note RF?
