Lot comprenant deux monnaies de 1 Dollar Ironworkers Mohawks, une pour chacun des deux ateliers Philadelphie et Denver.
Cette monnaie est la sixième monnaie commémorative consacrée aux Native Americans, c’est à dire aux nations indiennes d’Amérique du Nord. Chaque année, parallèlement aux quatre émissions des présidents des États-Unis d’Amérique, une monnaie différente sera émise sur ce thème.
Cette monnaie commémore les indiens Mohawks spécialisés dans les constructions métalliques de grande hauteur. Ces tribus implantées au Canada à l’est de l’Ontario et au sud du Québec et dans le nord-est des États-Unis. Depuis la fin du XIXe siècle, ils sont célèbres pour leur témérité et leur aptitude à monter des structures métalliques de grande hauteur. Depuis plus de 120 ans, ils ont participé à la construction des plus grands ponts et aux édifices les plus élevés de la ville de New York.
Lot including two 1 Dollar Mohawk Ironworkers coins, one for each of the Philadelphia and Denver workshops. This coin is the sixth commemorative coin dedicated to Native Americans, that is, the Indian nations of North America. Each year, alongside the four issues of the Presidents of the United States of America, a different coin will be issued on this theme. This coin commemorates the Mohawk Indians, who specialized in high-rise metal construction. These tribes settled in Canada, east of Ontario and south of Quebec, and in the northeastern United States. Since the end of the 19th century, they have been famous for their daring and their ability to erect high-rise metal structures. For more than 120 years, they have participated in the construction of the largest bridges and the tallest buildings in New York City.
